Challenge:
INPS was tasked with revitalizing Tri Rail’s fleet of Bi-Level transit cars through the removal of existing vinyl wraps and the supply and installation of new, high-quality vinyl wraps. This project encompassed 26 existing transit cars, with provisions to include an additional 14 new cars, and options for an additional 10 cars. All materials were carefully selected to ensure durability and aesthetics, utilizing 3M premium vinyl (3M 180C-10) and over laminate (3M 8519), applied according to strict 3M standards.
Solution:
The project commenced within 8 weeks following the Notice to Proceed. During this initial period, INPS conducted a sample removal at Tri Rail and began mobilizing the necessary equipment. The work schedule was intensive, with INPS aiming to complete one existing car or two new installations per week. The team operated 5-6 days a week, with 2 shifts per day, each shift employing 4-6 skilled technicians.
